Graduate Programme, Pricing and Costing Analyst
Department: Pricing and Risk Management
Location: Hybrid or Remote, we have offices in Teddington and Bedford
As a Pricing and Costing Graduate Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the financial operations of Rebel Energy. Your responsibilities will include reconciling cost invoices, running pricing models, and contributing to the development and execution of effective pricing strategies.
This role will receive extensive training on both technological tool and energy industry knowledge. Please see “Training” section below for details.
Analyze and reconcile cost invoices received from suppliers, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Collaborate with the procurement team to resolve any discrepancies and validate cost data.
Pricing Model Maintenance
Run and maintain pricing models to evaluate the cost components and determine optimal pricing structures for energy products and services.
Regularly update pricing models to incorporate changes in market conditions, regulatory requirements, and internal cost structures.
Maintain and update pricing databases, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
Utilize data analysis tools to extract insights and identify opportunities for improvement.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization through the analysis of cost trends, supplier negotiations, and process improvements.
Work closely with the operations team to implement cost-saving initiatives without compromising service quality.
Conduct market analysis to understand the dynamics of the energy market, including competitor pricing, regulatory changes, and emerging trends.
Provide insights to senior analysts on market conditions that may impact pricing strategies.
Pricing and Product Strategies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align pricing strategies with sales and marketing initiatives.
Provide support to the sales team by offering insights into competitive pricing landscapes and helping to structure competitive pricing proposals.
Documentation and Compliance
Maintain accurate documentation of pricing methodologies, cost structures, and financial models.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies in all pricing and costing activities.
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Mathematics or any other quantitative degree with programming experience;
Strong analytical and quantitative skills;
Structured and critical thinking, problem solving skills;
Knowledge of energy markets, regulatory frameworks, and pricing structures;
Proficiency in data analysis tools and spreadsheet software (e.g., Excel);
Excellent communication and presentation skills;
Attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Advanced Excel skills or experience with other data analysis tools (we use SQL and Python).
Understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting the energy sector.
Familiarity with energy industry software and tools.

Graduates will receive extensive training on modern data, analytics and technical tools such as Excel modelling, Python and SQL coding, PowerBI visualisation, Alteryx, Databricks and Appian. They will be allocated to a range of projects to explore these tools in real business scenarios. Graduates within the Risk and Pricing team will also receive industry training related to their roles.
